Late Arrivals

Life happens… and we get it. Our patients are given a 15 minute grace period from the time of their scheduled appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late we may ask you to reschedule.

Inclement weather

Inclement weather and other emergencies can affect our ability to open for business. We are a small office and rely on a dedicated staff to get to and from work. The safety of our employees is paramount. USFD follows the District of Columbia Public School System for closures and delays. Methods of Payment

U Street Family Dentistry accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Payment at the time of service is rendered by check, or credit card. Our office DOES NOT accept cash

  • Monthly billed accounts payable in full upon receipt

  • Payment plans for long term treatment such as orthodontics are arranged prior to treatment

  • We offer a 10% Senior Citizens discount for payment in full at time of service (not combined with any other specials)

Saturday and early morning appointments

Saturday and 8:00AM appointments are the most desired appointment slots. If one of these appointments are missed we cannot offer you the same time. We will be happy to reschedule you for another time during the week. We thank you for understanding

Dental Insurance

If we have received all of your insurance information on the day of the appointment, we will be happy to file your claim for you. We will collect from you on the day of service, the estimated amount that insurance is NOT expected to pay. After submitting the claim an Explanation of Benefits is mailed to you/the subscriber as well as our office. This Explanation of Benefits (EOB) will detail the exact cost for your services. We file all insurance claims electronically, so your insurance company will receive each claim within days of the treatment. You are responsible for any balance on your account after 30 days, whether insurance has paid or not. Click here to view our current insurance partners.

Cancellation Policy

We are very pleased to participate in your dental healthcare, and have set aside time for your appointment.  We understand that sometimes it is necessary to cancel or change an appointment.  In consideration of the others who need care, we ask that if you are unable to keep an appointment with our office, that you please call or email us within 48 hours. There will be a $50 fee for routine cleanings cancelled with inadequate notice. USFD will be unable to re-appoint patients that continuously reschedule their appointments without proper notice.
